Some introductions please

posted on May 2, 2008

For those of you who don’t know Polly Danger, or for those of you who have always wanted to know more, my finally-at-last-heck-yes crafty blog is here! My first order of operations is, naturally, an introduction into the world of P.D. Let’s get orderly!

Who is Polly Danger?
Polly Danger is a crafty girl who likes pink more and more, who lives in a tiny house in a little city and is married to the cutest boy ever and has three small crafty dogs. The cutest boy ever is Lil Redheaded Boy, or LRhB, who is a graphic designer and who makes a-dor-a-ble things. Polly’s favorite form of craft is sewing, or anything related to fabric. She makes purses, craft aprons, craft cases, sewing machine covers, necklaces, passport covers, luggage tags, sumptuous blank journals, and basically anything that she can figure out how to make. Polly Danger writes fiction and is currently obsessed with writing about animals, humans and delusions.

WHAT is Polly Danger?
Polly Danger is the craft-love machine that happens in my house where I make the cutest things that my busy little hands will allow. While there is always something crafty going on, it’s taken a while to technologi-fy (yes, I am also crafty with words) the craft. Now I can finally share all my favorite crafts, fabrics, shops, and places with everyone who likes Polly Danger as much as I do!

Where is Polly Danger based?
Polly Danger has formerly been based out of San Francisco and Tokyo, and has recently relocated to sunny Los Angeles (or thereabouts). We love the international craft scene and want to make many more international friends! Our dream is to do DesignFesta in Tokyo one day.

P.D. has been around the craft scene for the past two years or so, doing craft shows like Bazaar Bizarre and Mission Indie Mart up and down the west coast. So far it’s been pretty mild crafting, since most of that time I was working full time and going to school full time. Luckily for everyone, Polly Danger is finally graduating!!!!! Bust out the keg because the craft-palooza is about to begin!

In the works:

Saturday Crafternoons- started back in 2004 with my best friend, Momo, in a secret cafe in Tokyo, these are really fun lesson-based craft afternoons with friends. The fun part is that we switch off teaching each other a craft. Perfect for expanding your craft horizons, gossiping, and showing your craft–free friends how creative they really are! We are looking to start L.A. Crafternoons some time in mid to late June. Email me for more information or just to say you’re interested!

Etsy expansion- As some of you may have noticed, my etsy shop is up and running! Keep yr peepers open for waaay more stuff this June. More craft aprons, more sewing machine covers, more craft corsages, more, more, more vintage fabrics!

Summer Craft Boutique- A breezy, casual craft show in my momma’s incredible garden. Expect mimosas, original paintings, San Fernando Valley themed t-shirts, first prints of A Day at the Zoo and Other Stories, and many, many more fabulous goodies!
