Eric and I opted against the typical Valentines Day again this year. We snuggled with the doggies in bed like we do every day, and then we met my sister for a day of thrifting and adventure! We started off with a scrumptious sausage breakfast at Harry’s in Burbank, and then hit up our all time favorite, Valley Thrift (see Out N’ About part 2 for more details about Valley Thrift). I scored some lovely, lovely things. A vintage candy jar- the glass kind with a chrome lid, milk glass candy dish, a scalloped, trellis patterned candy dish, some beautiful vintage fabric with a yellow floral print, beautiful clothes, plus a Xyron sticker maker for 7 bucks! Did I mention the ENTIRE SET OF HARRY POTTER BOOKS!!!! Yeah, it was a goooood day at Valley Thrift.

Then it was off to La Brea where we stopped at Jet Rag. Hmph. I picked up a couple of things, but I have to say it’s hard to enjoy shopping at a place where the sales people try sooo hard to look like they hate life. It took me back to a time and place where I thought that maybe that’s how you had to be if you wanted to be cool. Enough poop talk though. This post is about awesomeness!
After Jet Rag we went out to Sawtelle and did a little shopping for Japanese goodies, and then we felt it was necessary to make a huge loop by going all the way out to Silverlake. Had to go to our favorite, nameless Vietnamese place on Sunset, and then FINALLY to Reform School. Finally, finally, finally. Been trying to make it out there since it was born! But now I can share with you what made me squeal with delight. Not only is it ridiculously adorable in there, not only do they have the most incredible assortment of handmade goodness, not only did Jenny Ryan herself help me with my purchase, but she swooped the bolts away and came back with this-

Folded and tied with a green and white string. Really, I have to say that made my day complete. I don’t want to unwrap it.
Scrumptious. Happy President’s Day.

Good finds!
