For the Lovely Blogger List . . .

Here’s Polly Danger in a nutshell for the Lovely Blogger List and all my new friends who are just finding my blog or shop!

Meet Polly Danger, a twenty-something seamstress and all around crafter who loves vintage florals, punches of color, and all things vintage and well made.  Polly started her craft career five years ago after returning from a year abroad.  She started out making handy and adorable utility aprons, and then advanced to all manor of loveliness, including mini wallets and purses!  Today Polly Danger still makes fabulous aprons, but is perhaps best known amongst sewers as the creator of the most gorgeous bias tapes and sewing buttons available anywhere!  Oh yes and she’s a really nice person *-*.

To find out more about Polly Danger you can visit her Main Etsy Shop and her Notions Shop.  To find out more about the Lovely Blogger List you can click HERE.

I’ve been laying on my bed since 2pm making pictures pretty and listing new goodies in both shops- I think I’m getting bed sores!  I don’t even remember what my kitchen looks like.

I had to take a break from listing stuff- I always underestimate how long it takes to do that!  So I thought I’d take the opportunity to entice you with a few pictures!

I present to you the Pavillion Bouquet Trio- a selection of delectable delights in a gorgeous new print.  You can purchase a beloved Mini Wallet, new and handy Keychain Coin+ Card Pouch, and Checkbook Cover in this adorable print.  Also see the SETS section of the Etsy shop for complete collections!

Okay, I’m going to go post more goodies.  Hopefully I find my way to the kitchen at some point because I’m sure I smell freshly baked bread . . . unless I’m really out of my mind . . . hmm . . .

A Window Garden!

posted on Jan 16, 2010

Ever since I saw the window garden how-to in my Martha Stewart Good Things for Organizing book several years ago I’ve wanted a window garden.  I have a fantasy of building a conservatory of my very own with a mossy  herringbone brick floor and half a dozen marble topped tables full of magical and exotic plants.  But until I can build it I’ll make do with my very own window garden!

I bought these beautiful wrought iron plant shelves at the Rosebowl Flea Market last Autumn and I’ve tried using them for extra craft storage, for sorting outgoing packages, just about everything except what they were meant for.  It wasn’t until Eric moved his office out of the studio and I finally got to sit down and make it mine that I found the perfect place for my plant stand.

I sent my ironing board a-packin’ to the back of the studio, near my sewing machine, and that freed up the huge sliding door for a sweet reading nook.  I put my faux-coco chair there, and my lovely white cutout coffee table next to it,  where the window garden has made a home.  So sweet!  I have not only satisfied my craving for a window garden/ conservatory but found a use for my collection of itty bitty containers.  I’m sure the collection will continue to grow *=*

I even succeeded in using one of my tiny ceramic pots!

More photos of the studio re-do as I cute it up!

So sleepy, but I just wanted to say that in my sleepiness I feel like maybe sometime in the very near future I might do some Twitter Only Sale stuff . . . you might want to follow my Tweets . . . so sleepy . . .zzZzzzzzzZzzzZZzzzzzz . . . .

Guess whose aprons got featured in an AWESOME article on Handmade News.org?! That’s right, me! I’m super duper proud to be included in an article that really hits home for me- Handmade Organization! My Modern Storybook Utility Apron made it in there along side some other really great organizational ideas for crafters. There are some truly cool things in that article, so please go check it out!

Two Dollar Tutorials!

posted on Aug 29, 2009

I know I’ve been kinda absent lately and I certainly apologize, but I’ve been on fire! Lots to do! I’m working on a couple of wholesale orders- yay! Plus I’ve been putting together some tutorials for the notions shop. I’m calling them $2 Tutorials. So many people ask me what bias tape is for that I decided to put together a learn-as-you-sew set of cheap, quick tutorials and patterns.

The first $2 Tutorial is a reversible bib! This one is vinylized on both sides, and you can either add the vinyl or not. Either way you have a super cute baby bib for your little munchkin or someone else’s! Plus I got to use some fabric that I love and have been hoarding.

I’ll probably post that this weekend in the notions shop. I’ve also got a ton of ideas either in action, or on my list. Next tutorial- SOAP TOWELS! What are soap towels you ask? Well, I’m sure I’m not the only one who LOVES them some fancy soap bars, but hates the wet gunk that builds up under them. Soap towels are little ovals (or rectangles or squares) of toweling, edged in cute bias tape- an adorable, smart way to keep soap ick from collecting. You just make a set, and like towels, you use them for a few days and then throw them in the laundry. The pattern will come with three or four shapes so that you can customize to your soap dish!

And now I’m off to shop downtown- yum!
